The following media is from the beta VR Version of SkySketch. Proper AR mockups for presentation will follow once there is time for proper marketing material and the UI is closer to it's final look - this is just a rough first look at the current state.

SkySketch - Paint the World around you!

SkySketch is a 360° Painting Application. Instead of working on a 2D image with borders, SkySketch lets you paint your artwork from the inside out!

If you have a VR Display, you can even paint in VR to fully immerse yourself into your painting - and switch between Screen and VR Mode anytime on the fly.

Tablet input is fully supported and you can even use your tablet in VR mode. Naturally VR controller input is supported as well.

The UI is designed for usability in and out of VR from the ground up, and is consistent between VR and non VR modes.

The software features a highly customizeable brush engine with stabiliziers, pressure mappings, randomization and more.

SkySketch is in active development and currently in beta version. New features and fixes are currently being added a regular basis.

Please support the project if you can!

Features:

Requirements:

Windows 8 or higher.

Hardware requirements depend greatly on the painting resolution, contents and whether or not you use VR mode. Please try the free demon version to see if your PC is up to the challenge, and to check for Tablet and HMD compatibility before buying.

Lower painting resultions greatly drecrease performance needs, so if you're running potato hardware, you can still try lowering the resolution.

(Optional) For VR Mode, you should at least have a GTX 970 GPU or equivalent as a bare minimum. An SSD drive is recommended. A VR Headset is only required for VR mode.

SkySketch uses SteamVR for it's VR mode, and should support any SteamVR compatible headset. If you do not have a headset, but you have a powerful android phone, you can try Cardboard/Daydream VR via Riftcat.

You can grab the free demo version right here: ............. LINK GOES HERE .................

Please note that the demo does not offer any saving functionality - it's meant to let you try if this tool is for you, and to check if the application works well with your hardware beforehand. (If it doesn't, please give feedback on what's wrong, and I'll see what I can do to fix it!)

The full version can save your paintings as panoramic and cubic 360 images, and offers import/export functionality for brush settings and color palettes.

SkySketch is currently available through the Gumroad storefront. Additional ways to buy it will be available soon.

[ About ]

Hi ! I'm Carina, a Sr. Technical Artist & Unity developer from Germany. I've been working on SkySketch in my off-time since early 2018 because I love painting, VR and game development, and I missed the precision of a tablet in the VR painting apps that i tried. So I decided to fix that. After somewhat horribly misjudging the amount of days and months this would take, finally, here we are! I hope you enjoy the application and I want to make it the best it can be - so If you have any feedback or bug reports, please contact me, I want to hear from you!
